Is reading more one of your new years’ resolutions this year? Come join us at our Pride and Allies Book Club to read and discuss literature written by and/or starring folks from the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community.

This month, our Book Club is reading The Colour Purple by Alice Walker. This notable novel won the Pulitzer Prize in 1983, and was adapted into a movie starring Oprah Winfrey and a young Whoopi Goldberg. It also happens to be on of the most frequently banned books around. TCPS is also aware of the author’s current transphobia, and we welcome discussions of this during the event.

Books are available free of charge from the Coquitlam Public Library, in hard copy, e-book and audiobook format. Our book club is free, no registration is required! Drop-ins welcome.
