Happy New Year to our wonderful community in 2026! We have an exciting year planned, including three Pride festivals, our annual Pride Hockey Night, and of course our AGM! We’ll be continuing our regular programming throughout the year, and if you have ideas for additional activities, we always welcome partnerships with likeminded individuals and organizations.
Mark your calendars for our AGM, happening on Saturday Feb 28 at 10am at the Coquitlam Public Library, city centre branch, room 127. We’ll also have a zoom-in option for those who can’t join us in person! We have space for new members on our board, so if you’re interested in being part of the movement, be sure to attend.
And on that note, it’s time to renew your membership! Your membership allows you to run in and vote for people during our AGMs, and membership fees help us keep running as an organization. Plus, we get to use our membership numbers when applying for grants and funding, which indirectly allows you to support us financially even when you claim an accessible membership!
We’re also looking for a new volunteer lead for our Crafty Queers monthly meetup, as we have lost our previous lead due to health reasons. We’re looking for both space and an organizer, so if you have either of these things please reach out!

Out and About Walk – Weekday Edition
Tuesday January 20, 7-8pm, Lafarge Lake
Come join us for our Out and About walk, weekday edition! Our regular Saturday walk has become so popular that we’ve added on a second walk, this time during the week. This month, we’ll be able to enjoy the Lights at Lafarge as we walk! We usually do a few laps of Lafarge Lake, and if your dog is friendly they are welcome to join us as well. Meet in front of the Praugery at Town Centre Park Community Centre. Free, no registration required.
Queers and Beers Tri-Cities
Wednesday January 28, 6-10pm, Parkside Brewery
Queers and Beers Tri-Cities is a monthly hangout for 2S/LGBTQIA+ folks and friends at The Parkside Brewery! Bring a friend, or make a new one over a pint (or non-alcoholic beverage). No cost to attend, and you get 15% off pints for the evening!
Pride and Allies Book Club
Wednesday February 4, 7-8pm, Coquitlam Public Library Poirier Branch, boardroom
Do you have reading more on your new years’ resolution list? This is a great option for you! Join us for our Pride and Allies Book Club, where we read and discuss literature by and/or starring folks from the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community. This month we’re reading “The Colour Purple” by Alice Walker, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1983, became a movie starring Oprah Winfrey and a young Whoopi Goldberg, and is on the list as one of the most frequently banned books around. We’re also aware of the author’s current transphobia, and welcome discussions of this during our program. Books are available free of charge from the Coquitlam Public Library, in hard copy, e-book and audiobook format. You can find us in the Boardroom at Poirier Branch; our book club is free and no registration is required!
Out and About Walk
Saturday February 7, 1-2pm, Lafarge Lake
Come join us on the first Saturday of the month for some good company and a little movement! We usually do a few laps of Lafarge Lake. If your dog is friendly they are welcome to join us as well! Meet in front of the Praugery at Town Centre Park Community Centre. Free, no registration required.

Thank you as always for your ongoing support!
We appreciate donations of any amount at any time, please reach out to [email protected] or go to our website at https://tricitiespride.ca/donate/
Want to get involved? We’re always looking for more people to help, so if you have a special skill (for instance: website building, social media, accounting, and grant writing), we always need extra hands to take on tasks for the society! Or if you’re interested in running a collaboration with us, send us an email and we’ll chat 🙂
